He placed anti-tank guns to knock out tiger tanks on a highway and also did the firing of guns making direct hits. He has been a member of Morden Branch #11 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 68 years. REID, David T. PEACETIME David was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1934. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy, and served in Canada. He has been a member of Fort Garry Branch #90 of The Royal Canadian Legion for the past twenty-two years. REYNARD, Brian J. SPECIAL AREA DUTY Brian was born in Kenora, Ontario, on May 10, 1942. He joined the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada and served in Canada and Germany. He has been a member of Keewatin Branch #13 of The Royal Canadian Legion for two years. REYKDAL, Curtis A. “Duck” SPECIAL AREA DUTY & PEACETIME Duck was born in December 29, 1962, in Calgary, Alberta. He served in the reserves from March 1979 until April 1981 with both the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and the Fort Garry Horse Regiment. In December 1982, he joined the 2 PPCLI and served overseas from 1984 until 1988 at CFB Baden. While overseas in 1987, Duck married a German girl from Rastatt. In 1988, he remustered to the Air Force and was transferred to Moose Jaw, SK, and in 1996, he was posted to 435th Squadron in Winnipeg. Upon his retirement in 2003, he moved to Leaf Rapids, MB, to pursue his interest in the north and work part-time with the local RCMP detachment. He keeps in contact with his military buddies and he can be found fishing with his faithful golden retriever, Aurora. Duck has been a member of Leaf Rapids Branch #251 of The Royal Canadian Legion for five years.
