He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and again in 1948, serving in Canada, Britain and North Western Europe. He passed away in 1993 and had been a member of Fort Garry Branch #90 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 25 years. PATTERSON, Tim WWII Tim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and joined the RCN (Signals) serving in Canada, Britain and the High Seas. He passed away in 2004, and had been a member of Fort Garry Branch #90 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years. PEARCE, Gordon R. “Cheerio” WWII Gordon was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1919. He joined the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders and served in England and Western Europe. He was killed in action in 1946 and is commemorated at Brookwood Military Cemetery in Surrey, England. Gordon drowned returning to England. Pearce Island (53K/14) in Kenyon Lake was named after him in 1995. PEARCE, Garth WWII Garth was born in Cornwall, England, and was in the Wartime Reserve serving in Canada. He passed away in 2000, and had been a member of Fort Garry Branch #90 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 49 years.
