161 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca McMILLAN, Joseph A. WWI Joseph was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1885. He joined the Army. He passed away in 1969. No additional information is available. McMILLAN, Peter G. WWII Peter was born in Blackhawk, Ontario, on February 22, 1920. He joined the 17th Forestry Corps on September 2, 1940, at Fort Frances, Ontario, and did his training at Camp Shilo, Manitoba. He served overseas in Scotland, Belgium and Germany, and was discharged at Winnipeg, MB, on October 16, 1945. Pete returned to Blackhawk and awaited his war bride, Meta, who arrived in 1946. In 1954, they moved to Atikokan, Ontario, and raised their family of four. Pete was a Life Member of Branch #145 of The Royal Canadian Legion and received an MSM in 1983 for his dedication and service. He passed away on October 18, 1990. Pete lived as he died, peacefully. MEUSE, Roger J. KOREA Roger was born Eel River Bridge, New Brunswick, in 1932. He enlisted in the Army in 1950, at the age of 18, and served in Canada and Korea with the Carleton York 4th Canadian Guards until the end of the Korean War in 1955. Roger and his wife, Beverly, reside in Snow Lake and have always taken an active part and served on the executive of Snow Lake Legion Branch #241 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 48 years. McRAE, Neil M. WWI & WWII Neil was born in Clandeboye, Manitoba, in 1893. He enlisted on November 23, 1915, with the 108th Infantry Battalion (Selkirk, Manitoba). After basic training, the 108th arrived in France on January 5, 1917, becoming part of the 43rd Infantry Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. While there, he received the Distinguished Conduct Medal. In World War Two, he joined the 37th Company Veterans Guard of Canada on October 16, 1942. Sgt. McRae was discharged on February 20, 1919, in World War One and was discharged on October 17, 1945, in World War Two. Neil passed away in 1982, and was a member of Selkirk Branch #42 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
