He joined the 71st - 8th Field Regiment (SP) RCA on December 21, 1931, in Brandon and left for England in January 1940, serving in Italy, Canada, England and Western Europe. Peter has been a member of Brandon Branch #3 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 25 years. MATTHEWS, William A. WWII William was born in Reston, Manitoba, in 1915 on the family farm in the Hillview District. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII but never was posted overseas. Upon his discharge in 1945, he returned to the Reston District and farmed until retiring to Virden, Manitoba. He married Merle “Bud” Bulloch in 1947. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the WWII War Medal 1939-1945. William passed away in 1983, and was a loyal member of Elizabeth Branch #106 of The Royal Canadian Legion for over 30 years. McCLUSKEY, Paul A. PEACETIME Paul was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, in 1963. He joined the 2nd PPCLI and served in Canada, Baden-Solegugen, Germany. He has been a member of Fort Garry Branch #90 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 11 years. McCANN, Harold S. WWI Harold was born in England in 1898. He joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force serving in Canada, England and Europe as an ambulance driver. Soon after his return home, he emigrated to California and was a very active member of The Canadian Legion Hollywood Post. Harold passed away in 1967.
