WWI Henry was born in Oakland Municipality, near Nesbitt, Manitoba, in 1890 and lived on the farm there until he enlisted in 1917 with the 43rd Battalion Canadian Infantry, MB Division. He died from the Spanish Influenza in France in November 1918 and is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery, France. MARTINDALE, Walter WWI Walter was born in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1870. He enlisted on March 4, 1915, with the 184th Battalion at Morden, Manitoba, at the age of 45 and served in the Great War until his discharge due to poor health on June 22, 1918. His experience in France broke his health and he never was the same man. When Walter went overseas, he left behind a wife, the former Flora Law and seven children. Upon his return, the couple had five more children. Walter passed away in November 1929. For serving his country, Walter received the 1914-1918 King George V Service Medal and the Great War for Civilization 1914-1919 Medal. MASSEY, Benjamin “Frank” WWII Benjamin was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, in 1921. He joined the 426th Squadron Thunderbirds serving in England. He is a member of Selkirk Branch #42 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MARTINDALE, William J. SPECIAL AREA DUTY William was born in Morden, Manitoba, in 1951. He joined the PPCLI (1970-1981), the Regular Force in Canada and North West Europe and the Calgary Highlanders Reserve, serving in Canada and North West Europe. William has been a member of Morden Branch #11 of The Royal Canadian Legion since 1984.
