He joined the 43rd Battalion, serving in Canada, England and France. He was awarded the Military Medal. He passed away in 1956. LUMB, George Ralph WWII George was born in Roblin R.M., on January 23, 1926. He joined the Winnipeg Infantry, serving in Canada. Before his enlistment, he was educated in North Derby and Neelin schools and worked on a farm. After his discharge in 1945, he worked for Manitoba Hydro for 22 years as district supervisor at Winnipegosis, Manitoba, and retired as district operator in Brandon, MB, after 34 years with Manitoba Hydro. George married Lena Dubyts of Belmont, MB, and had two sons. He has been a member Grandview Branch, Winnipegosis Branch, and Brandon Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for 58 years. LUSIGNAN, Hector J. WWII Hector was born in Somerset, Manitoba, in 1917. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in June 1941 and was stationed in Newfoundland and at #1 SFTS, Camp Borden, Ontario. Corporal Lusignan passed away in 1995. LUND, Bernard E. WWII Bernard was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba, on November 18, 1916. He joined the Canadian Fusiliers, serving in Canada, England and the North Pacific area. He was discharged in Winnipeg on April 22, 1948, and received the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Bernard passed away in 1989 and had been a member of Elkhorn Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years.
