131 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca KIEBUZINSKI, Rae G. WWII Rae was born in London, England, in 1920. She joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force in 1943 and trained to be a flight mechanic (engines). After the course, she was posted to RAF Northold, a Polish Fighter Station in the London suburbs, and worked there at Station Flight and later became a fitter (class 2 engines). Because of pre-service academic achievements, she became a mathematics instructor in the Education and Vocational Training program after the war, until her discharge in 1946. In December 1945, Rae married Kazimierz in England and they immigrated to Canada in 1948. Rae is a Charter Member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Legion Branch #238 in Ear Falls, and joined The Legion Branch a few years later. Rae is a Past-President and Life Member of both The Legion and its Auxiliary. KIEPER, Ross W. WWII Ross was born in Minniska, Manitoba, in 1909. He enlisted in Winnipeg in June 1942 with the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving in Canada and the UK. He was discharged in Winnipeg in February 1946 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp Medal. Ross passed away in 2001 and was a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion. KIEPER, Wilda A. WWII Wilda was born in Russell, Manitoba, in 1923. She enlisted in July 1944 with the WREN Signalers, serving in Canada and Newfoundland. She was discharged in December 1945 and passed away in 2009. Wilda had been a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 56 years. KIEPER, Wilbur A. WWII Wilbur was born in Manitoba in 1924. He enlisted in Winnipeg in May 1943 with the RCNVR, serving in Canada and the Atlantic. He was discharged in October 1945, and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Wilbur is a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion and living in British Columbia.
