129 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca KEATING, Earle A. WWI Earle was born in Silverton, Manitoba. He joined the Fort Garry Horse, serving in Canada. He passed away in 1972. No additional information is available. KEAY, Harold M. WWII Harold enlisted in March 1943 with the Royal Regina Rifles, and was discharged in March 1946. He passed away in 2009, and had been a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion. KIEBUZINSKI, Kazimierz J. “John” WWII Kazimierz was born in Lwow, Poland, in 1907. He joined the RAF Fighter Command 303rd Squadron in 1939. As Germany invaded Poland, he escaped to England where the Polish Air Force was reassembling. He flew a Spitfire with the 303rd from RAF Northolt during the Battle of Britain until he was shot down and wounded. He was then in charge of the Motor Transport section at Northolt. When the second front started, he went to Europe with 131st Wing giving air cover to the Canadian Ground Forces. After the war, he married Rae Russell, a WAAF he had met at Northold, and immigrated to Canada in 1948 where he eventually became the owner/operator of the Ear Falls Garage and Service for 18 years until his health failed in 1971. John joined the Kenora Legion Branch in 1949 and became a Charter Member of the Ear Falls Branch #238 of The Royal Canadian Legion in 1955, where he served until his death in 1983. KEMBALL, Barry J. PEACETIME Barry was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba, in 1943. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg in 1963. His “boot camp” training was taken in St.-Jean, Quebec, then at CFB Trenton for military police preparation, and was posted to the Royal Canadian Air Force 3rd Wing, Swibrucken, Germany. Barry returned to Canada in 1966, and served throughout the country from Goose Bay, Labrador to Victoria, BC. His Royal Canadian Air Force career was broken when he served with the Special Investigation Unit in CFB Winnipeg and a tour in the Middle East in Syria and Israel. Barry now resides in East St. Georges, Manitoba, with his wife, Linda, and their two children, Kim and Kevin, and their three grandchildren. He received the CD and Clasp, and the United Nations Medal. He has been a member of Pine Falls Branch #64 of The Royal Canadian Legion for two years.
