He enlisted in the Army in 1940, stationed at Camp Shilo and Camp Borden, and served in England and North Africa for a short time en route to Italy. He was involved in the push on Casino beyond Rome for 19 months. He then left for Holland in February 1945 via Marseilles, France, and Belgium for service until the end of the war. He married Jessie Munro in 1946, and they had four children. He worked for the Canadian Pacific Express Company for 14 years out of Binscarth and 15 years out of Brandon, MB. Llewellyn passed away in 2002. JOYAL, Claude E. WWII Claude was born in The Pas, Manitoba, in 1920. He enlisted with the RCNVR on June 7, 1942, and took his basic training at HMCS Chippawa, Winnipeg, MB, and HMCS Naden, Victoria, BC. He was drafted onboard HMCS Waskesiu Frigate from June 19, 1943, to September 1945. He left Victoria, BC, by way of the Panana Canal to Halifax, NS, on September 10, 1943, and joined the Atlantic convoy patrols from Newfoundland to Londonderry, England. The ship was engaged in one special convoy patrol from Scapa Flow, Scotland, to Murmansk, Russia, and also on D-Day on June 6, 1944. Claude has been a member of The Pas Branch #19 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years. KEATING, Donald R. WWII Donald was born in Silverton, Manitoba, in 1925. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada. He passed away in 2009. No additional information is available. KEATING, Charles E. WWII Charles was born in Silverton, Manitoba, in 1924. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force Golden Hawks Sabres Aerobatic and served in Canada and Europe. No additional information is available.
