LEST WE FORGET 327 WALTERS, Cyril WWII & Special Duty Area Cyril was born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, in 1919. He joined the Army and served in London, Ontario. He took his basic training in Regina and then to Kingston and London as Corporal at the repair depot for all of the Army vehicles. He stayed in a rented apartment and not in the barracks. When the war was over, he returned to Regina. Cyril passed away in 1975 and had been a member of the Assiniboia Branch 17 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years. WARD, Bruce Victor WWII Bruce was born in Willmar, Saskatchewan, on March 6, 1923. He joined the Army on July 15, 1941 and served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Upon returning home, he married Ila Walker and they had five children. Bruce joined The Royal Canadian Legion Alameda Branch 267 on October 6, 1948, and had been an active member until his passing on April 19, 2005. WALTON, Herbert WWII Herbert was born at Shackleton, Saskatchewan, on August 2, 1923, to Cecil and Maggie, in a family of nine. Herb received his education at Cabri, joined the Army in 1942, and was based in Canada. In 1944, following the war years, he moved to the Megan District, east of Arborfield, and worked for farmers in the summer and at saw mills in the winter. He married Nina Goodfellow in 1946 and they raised three children: Herb, Hilda and Marlene. Herb passed away in October 1959, after having open-heart surgery in March. Herb and Nina belonged to the Arborfield Legion and Auxiliary. Nina passed away on March 18, 2000.
