LEST WE FORGET 311 SCHULZE, Max Frederick WWII & SPECIAL AREA DUTY Max was born on July 13, 1920. He joined the Army in 1942, serving in England, Italy, Belgium and Holland, and was discharged in 1946. He passed away on August 1, 2009. SEARS, Bud WWII Bud was born in Mawer, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army in 1939, served in Europe, and was discharged in 1945. He worked in construction after the war and retired to Saskatoon in 1980. He passed away in June 1981. SCOTT, Allan Joel WWII Allan was born on February 26, 1925, in Aylesbury, Saskatchewan. In 1944, he joined the Army and was sent to Maple Creek for basic training. A “Paratrooper Wanted” sign caught his attention and off he went to Shiloh, Manitoba for five months. Upon completion of his paratrooper training, he joined the Canadian Paratrooper Core. He was sent home for a two-week embarkment when the news arrived that the war had ended. As an act of caution, he was still sent to Port Alberni base camp on the West Coast where he remained until any threats of a possible invasion had subsided. Once this was over, Allan remained in the Army, and was deployed to various locations until he was discharged in 1946. Allan returned home and took over the family farm where he and his wife Helen raised five children. Allan passed away on June 18, 2024.
