LEST WE FORGET 233 McALPINE, Donald Alexander WWII Donald was born in Dubuc, Saskatchewan, on October 10, 1916. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in May 1940 and served overseas in England, Ceylon, and Burma. He returned home in 1945 and married Edna Olson from Stockholm, Saskatchewan, on July 28, 1948. They purchased a farm through the Veterans’ Land Act and farmed until he passed away on January 7, 1986. They raised two lovely daughters and have three grandchildren who all live in Langley, British Columbia. Donald was a member of the Stockholm Branch 265 for forty years and he was still President when he passed away. McCORRISTON, Wellington Harwood WWI Wellington was born in Bristol, Quebec, in 1895. He enlisted with the 1st Depot Battalion Saskatchewan Regiment in July 1918, serving in Canada, and was discharged on February 10, 1919. He passed away in 1948. McCORRISTON, John James WWII John joined the Army in Regina in 1943 and served in Alberta, Germany, France, Holland and Belgium for nine months of action returning in August 1946. He passed away in 1976.
