LEST WE FORGET 121 FARNDEN, Arthur Thomas WWII Arthur was born in Virden, Manitoba, on July 23, 1918 and moved to Alameda with his parents in 1934. He joined the Army in 1941 and was discharged in 1943 due to poor health. He returned home and married Eva McLagan and they had a family of three children. He was an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Alameda Branch 267. He passed away on January 12, 2000. FEDAK, George PEACETIME George was born in Tuffnell, Saskatchewan, in 1933. He joined the Air Force and served in Canada and France from 1951 to 1981 as a CO and Supply Officer Air Cadet from 1981 to 1987 in Macklin, Saskatchewan, and CO and Supply Officer Air Cadet from 1987 to 1996 in Penhold, Alberta. He was a member of the Red Deer Branch 35 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 40 years before he passed away in 2003. FARNDEN, William Daniel “Dan” WWII Dan was born at Oak Lake, Manitoba, on June 29, 1922. He joined the Army in 1941 and was with Unite Calgary Tank Regiment C.A.B., serving in Canada, England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He received the 19391945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. After his discharge in 1946, he married Lily McKiver of Montreal and they raised five children. Dan was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Alameda Branch 267 of The Royal Canadian Legion. He passed away on October 12, 1999.
