LEST WE FORGET 93 BENNETT, Ed WWII Ed was born on November 11, 1913, to Art and Jessie near Horizon, Saskatchewan. The family moved to River’s End and Ed joined the Army in 1939, serving in Canada, England, Sicily, Italy, France, Holland, Germany and Belgium and returned on October 5, 1945 and married Alice Stofford in 1949 and raised four children. Ed is now deceased. BIGGS, Edwin Percy WWI Edwin was born on October 28, 1886, in Northampton, England, taking his schooling and training as a carpenter. He came to Canada on April 23, 1914 and took a homestead in the Edmore District where he met and married Ivy Green. He joined the 214th Overseas Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment on March 13, 1916. Edwin served overseas until his discharge in 1918. After his return, he returned to the farm and after a short period he moved to Saskatoon. They lived there until he retired and they moved to Selma Park, BC. BERLIN, Nels WWII Nels was born in 1903 in Jämtland, Sweden, to Jonas and Margit and moved with the family to Canada in 1906, settling in the Star City area. Nels took a homestead in the White Fox area and married Helena Penner and raised five children. He joined the Air Force in 1941 and served in England, returning home in 1946, and purchased land at Garrick. He passed away in March 1983.
