Military Service Recognition Book - Volume 18

LEST WE FORGET 3 On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, it is a distinct honour to provide greetings for the 18th Annual Military Service Recognition Book. The people of Saskatchewan recognize the immense contributions of our Canadian Armed Forces to protect the freedoms we cherish as Canadians. Saskatchewan men and women from every corner of our province have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the values and beliefs we all share. As a province and as a nation, we commend those in uniform, past and present, for their courage in defense of our communities, our province, and our country. All too often, we take for granted our Canadian values and institutions, the rights and freedoms that Canadians fought and died to defend. We continuously honour those who have sacrificed for our country, those who returned, those who lost their lives, and the families they left behind. By remembering their service, their courage and their sacrifice, we honour the legacy of peace and freedom these men and women fought so bravely to preserve. I would like to take this opportunity to applaud the tremendous efforts of the Saskatchewan Command of the Royal Canadian Legion in our province. The valuable contributions and tireless work of Legion members in our communities provide a wealth of support for Veterans and their families. In addition, this commemorative book is an important historical resource that allows us to learn more about military history and the immense contributions of our Veterans. Thank you to all the courageous men and women who continue to risk their lives, so that all Canadians, and all future generations, can live in a land of freedom and peace. Scott Moe Premier
