LEST WE FORGET 177 GAYTON, Ernest Edwin WWI Ernest was born in 1876 in Montreal, Quebec. He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery, 37th Battery, as a Gunner. He served in France and Belgium during World War I. Ernest passed away in 1961. GEE, Robert Charles WWII Robert enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943. He served as a Seaman until his discharge in 1945. GAYTON, William Arthur WWI William was born in 1886 in Manitou, Manitoba. He enlisted with Infantry, Saskatchewan Command 28th, Battalion as a Scout. He served in France and fought at Vimy where he was wounded in battle in June 1918. He was reported missing to his parents and was taken by the French RC to France. He was later transferred to London, England where received his commission while in hospital. William passed away in 1988.
