LEST WE FORGET 103 BRENNER, Howard Arthur WWII Howard was born on August 28, 1908, in Sagerville, Michigan. He came to the Coronach District with his parents in 1909. He joined the Army in 1942 and served in the Tank Corps in Canada until his discharge in 1945. He married Sylvia Catling while serving and they returned to the Coronach District to farm and raise their family. He was past president of The Royal Canadian Legion Coronach Branch 268 and served the branch faithfully from 1953 to 1987. Howard passed away in 1987. BRITTON, Thomas Martin WWI &WWII Thomas was born in 1892 in Brigden, Ontario. He joined the Army and served in World War I and World War II. He served with the Rocky Mountain Rangers in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Thomas served most of World War II on the West Coast as a shoemaker for the RCOC. He married Anne Griffiths in Wales in 1919. After the war he worked as a shoemaker and harness maker. He and his wife raised a family of eleven. Two of his sons served in World War II. Thomas passed away in 1955. BRISBIN, Norman RCMP Norman joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at Nipawin and trained in Regina and Ottawa. He served in Edmonton, Calgary, Banff and High River on general duties then joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Air Division in Ottawa, Edmonton, Regina, Fort Smith, Inuvik, St. John’s, The Pas, Victoria and at headquarters in Ottawa where he commanded the RCMP Air Division as Chief Superintendent and C.O. He left the service in 1985.
