LEST WE FORGET 85 BROWN, Kenneth W. “Ken” WWII Ken was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1920. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and afterward with 617 Squadron, 44 Squadron, and the Winter Experimental 442 Group in England, Canada, and Africa. He was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Ken passed away in 2002. BUCHAN, Fred H. WWII Fred was born in Waseca, Saskatchewan in 1927 and joined the Royal Canadian Navy as an air mechanic, serving in Canada and the North Atlantic. When he passed away in 2005, Fred had been a member of the Fort Garry Branch 90 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 52 years. No additional information was available. BROWN, Tom Gordon WWI &WWII Tom was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1891 and enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in December 1915 serving in Canada for nine months, England for sixteen months and France for nine months. By the end of the war, he was with the 2nd Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade. During World War II, he served in the Saskatchewan Veterans Civil Security Corps. Tom demobilized in the spring of 1919 and returned to farming in the Havelock area, which is northeast of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. Tom passed away in 1984.
