LEST WE FORGET 81 BREMNER, Robert Roderick WWI Robert was born in Scotland in 1876 and enlisted with the Canadian Permanent Force as a Private on June 15, 1915. On January 2, 1916, he was transferred to the 3rd Division and served in Canada and France. Robert was discharged on June 20, 1919 and he joined The Royal Canadian Legion Earl Grey Branch in March 1930. BRIN, Adelard WWII Adelard was born in Coderre, Saskatchewan, on April 6, 1922. He enlisted in the Army on January 12, 1942 being attached to the engineering department, South Albertans Regiment, serving in Canada, Britain and Northwest Europe. He was discharged on February 12, 1946. Adelard passed away on July 6, 2001. BREWSTER, Walter George Henry WWII Walter was born on June 25, 1921, in Josephine, Saskatchewan. He moved with his family to the Strawberry District in Alberta in 1926 and worked for local farmers and in sawmills. Walter enlisted in the Army in 1942. After completing basic training in Camrose, Alberta, he was transferred to London, Ontario to train for four months as a motor mechanic. He was then sent to Fort Knox in Kentucky to take a special course on U.S. tanks before being assigned to Camp Borden, Ontario to work on Army equipment. He remained at Camp Borden until he was discharged on February 13, 1946. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Walter returned to farming, but eventually sold his farm in 1975 to move to the Village of Thorsby, where he worked as a cabinet maker and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Pioneer Branch 144 for 49 years. Walter passed away in Thorsby in October 2009.
