LEST WE FORGET 373 WIGG, Martin WWII Martin was born in Elfros, Saskatchewan, on December 25, 1916. He joined the 5th Army Branch on June 5, 1941, and served in Canada, Europe and Italy. He was discharged on January 22, 1946, and went back to farming. Martin passed away on November 12, 1995. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Loon Lake Branch 165 for 40 years. WILEY, David James WWI David was born in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, on February 9, 1897. He attended Perley School, and joined the 1st Depot Battalion in Regina, serving with the Canadian Army Medical Corps in Canada and England. He returned to Saltcoats, where he married and raised a family. David passed away on February 28, 1975, and is buried in the Saltcoats Town Cemetery. WILDEY, Pete WWII Pete, son of Robert and Mary Ellen (Work) Wildey, was born on December 23, 1915. He joined the Regina Rifles at age 24 and was stationed in Prince Albert for six months and then on to Dundurn. He spent one year in Nova Scotia before being sent to Aldershot, England. He served in Belgium, Holland, and France before returning to Canada. Pete married Una Beal and they had a family of four children. They farmed and drove a school bus. They retired in 1974 and moved to Birch Hills. Una and Pete have both passed away.
