WHITING, Alfred Thomas WWI Alfred was born in Sandgate, Kent, England, on July 20, 1865. He joined the 16th Light Horse “C” Squadron in 1905, and was discharged in 1914. He then joined the 249th Battalion CEF on November 16, 1916, and was discharged on May 21, 1919, after serving in Canada and England. He immigrated to Canada to take up homesteading in 1886 in the Qu’Appelle, SK, area. Upon his retirement in 1935, he moved to British Columbia. He passed away in North Vancouver, BC, on September 15, 1958. WHITFORD, Andrew WWII Andrew joined the Army and served during World War II. He passed away in 1974.
