LEST WE FORGET 353 WAGSTAFF, Robert Thorarin “Bob” WWII Robert was born in Senate, Saskatchewan in October 1916, the son of Fred and Thora (Goodman of Glenboro) Wagstaff. Bob enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Calgary in 1942. He trained there and at St. Thomas where he graduated at the top of his class and remained there as an instructor until his discharge in 1945. He married France Gounce of Surrey, NB while in High River, Alberta in 1947. They took up residence in Calgary until 1967 when they moved to New Brunswick. He passed away on July of 1969 in Saint John, NB. WALEN, George WWII George was born in 1922 in the Plato area of Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of twenty. He served as a Wireless Air Gunner, flying with a Wellington Bomber Crew in England. He made four trips over Germany since he arrived overseas in May 1942. George was killed in action in 1943 over Germany. WALDEN, Levi WWI &WWII Levi was born in 1900 in Lilac, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army in 1917 and served in Canada for World War I. He enlisted with the Army in 1939 in Saskatoon and served in Canada for World War II as well. After the war, he returned to Lilac, SK to farm. He and his wife Jennie retired to North Battleford, SK. Levi passed away in 1977.
