LEST WE FORGET 335 TANAKA, Taisuke “Tommy” WWI Tommy was born in 1892 in Kagoshima-Ken, Japan. He enlisted with the 209 Battalion, Canadian Overseas and transferred to the 10th Battalion and served in France. He was wounded at the Battle of Vimy Ridge where he lost his right eye and was hospitalized for the rest of the war. He received the Victory Medal 1914-1919, the 1914-1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Veterans Badge. Tommy passed away in 1959. TAYLOR, John Benjamin WWII John was born in 1916 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army and served in Northwest Europe and Italy. He was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Foam Lake Branch 16. John passed away in 1996. TANNAS, Carl WWII Carl was born in Marienthal, Saskatchewan, in 1914. He enlisted in World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Calgary, Alberta, in April 1943. He served in Canada as a wireless mechanic. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Marwayne Branch 116 for thirty years. Carl passed away in 1986.
