LEST WE FORGET 327 STEWART, Nelson Herbert WWII Nelson was born on November 6, 1923 in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served with the S.L.I. in England, France and Germany. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, the 1939-1945 Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Birch Hills Branch 122. Nelson passed away in 1957. STOCKIE (BARLAGE), Gertrude WWII Gertrude, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Barlage, was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on October 19, 1925. She enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg on April 3, 1944, at the age of eighteen. She served with the #3 Canadian Women’s Army Corps as a tailor. Gertrude passed away on April 27, 1946. STEWART, Robert W. WWII Robert was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1903. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Flight Sergeant with the Aero Engine Mechanic A Group, stationed in Debert, Nova Scotia. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Red Lake Branch 102 for about 23 years. Robert died in 1973.
