He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in July 1941 as Warrant Officer 1st Class with the 295 Squadron- Navigator, Coastal Command and served in England and Canada until his discharge in October 1945. After the war, he married and raised a family in Calgary, Alberta.William passed away on November 22, 2002. SQUIRES, William WWI &WWII William was born in 1893 in Sheffield, England. He enlisted with the Canadian Army in September 1915 and served with the 179th Battalion, 43rd Cameron Islanders in Canada, England, France and Germany until his discharge in March 1919. He was awarded the Victory Medal and General Service Medal. He served with the Veterans Guard of Canada from 1943 to 1945 at German Prison Camps. He was a member of The British Empire Service League for seventy years. William passed away in 1993. SPENCE, Robert Lorne “Bob” WWII Bob was born in 1922 in Speers, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Trail, British Columbia, and graduated as a Pilot Officer, Air BomberNavigator on June 2, 1944. He flew as a navigator on a plane from Nova Scotia to the Mediterranean. Bob passed away in 2002.
