LEST WE FORGET 311 SIEGEL, Edward August WWII Edward was born in 1911 in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army and served with the Regina Rifles Regiment. He saw his first action on D-Day and traveled all the way from D-Day to Germany. He then had extra duty in Germany after the war. He came home to Lanigan in March 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Lanigan Branch 143 for 55 years. Edward passed away in 2000. SIMONS, George Alexander WWII When World War II arrived, George enlisted in the Canadian Army, joining the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry Division in either 1940 or 1941 and perhaps in Winnipeg. He served until he was demobilized in 1945. He served in a unit stationed on Vancouver Island. George passed away on March 26, 1983. SILL, Gordon WWII Gordon was born in Saskatchewan in 1916 and joined the Air Force #40 Provost Corps, serving in Europe. He married Coreen McMillan while in the military. Gordon passed away in 2000.
