LEST WE FORGET 307 SEVERIGHT, Percy WWII Percy was born on June 12, 1912 on the Fishing Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan to John and Violet Severight. He was enrolled into the No. 12A District Depot C.A. the Canadian Army in Saskatoon on August 6, 1941 at the age of thirty. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Central Mediterranean area and Continental Europe knowing very little of the English language. He was discharged on February 21, 1946. He left behind wife Marie, two sons Michael and William and two daughters Mary Rose and Elizabeth Severight. When he returned, he resumed farming, hunting and trapping. He was elected Chief of his community on the Fishing Lake First Nation. He was a very spiritual person and very humble to his people. The people made a memorial in April 2013 by calling their Community Hall The Percy Severight Memorial Hall. Percy passed away quietly in his home in March 1985. He was 73 years old. SHARPE, Roderick James WWI Roderick was born on May 22, 1884 in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. He was the son of Edward and Caroline Sharpe. Roderick enlisted in the Army in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on January 4, 1916 with the 226th Overseas Battalion and served with the 27th Battalion Canadian Infantry during World War I. Roderick was awarded the Star Service Badge, Victory Medal, British War Medal and the 1914-1915 Star. He married Caroline Clara Dahl on February 9, 1910 and had seven children. Roderick was very proud of his only living son, Sergeant Major James Milton Sharpe who served in World War II. He was a farming laborer and lived in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba his entire life. Roderick passed away in 1963 at the Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg. SHARP, Floyd L. WWII Floyd was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan in 1923. He joined the Army and served in Canada, Great Britain, Central Mediterranean, France, Holland and Germany. He was a member of Boissevain Legion Branch 10 for 28 years. Floyd died in 1988.
