LEST WE FORGET 303 SCUTCHINGS, Harry WWI Harry was born in 1895 in Tring, Hertfordshire, England. He enlisted with the Canadian Army during the World War I and served with the 46th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment in France and Belgium. He was awarded the Military Medal “For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty before Passchendaele on October 26, 1917”. Harry was killed in action in 1917 at Passchendaele. SELF, John R. “Jack” WWII Jack was born in Marchwell, Saskatchewan, in 1922. He enlisted in July 1941 with the RCE serving in Canada until his discharge in July 1946. Jack was a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion. He passed away in 1999. SEGHERS, Hector H. WWII Hector was born on February 12, 1919 in the Fairlawn District of Saskatchewan. He took the Aero-engine Mechanic Course in Regina in July 1941 and he was enlisted on November 5, 1941 for basic training with the RCAF. He went overseas in February 1944 and served with the 429 Bison Squadron in Leeming, Yorkshire, England, the 410 RSU in Holland and the 127 Airfield Squadron in Germany. He was discharged on January 24, 1946. Following the war, he joined The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 306 and held all executive offices over the years. Hector was killed in an auto accident in December 2000.
