LEST WE FORGET 291 REID, Henry W. “Harry” WWII Harry was born in Viceroy, Saskatchewan on March 10, 1916. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and served as an airframe mechanic “A” in Canada and Gander, Newfoundland (Newfoundland was not part of Canada until 1949). Harry was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Gladstone Branch 119 for 53 years. He passed away on March 7, 2009 and is buried in the Gladstone Cemetery. ROCKWELL, Glendon Hugh RCMP Glendon was born in Melville, Saskatchewan on November 5, 1947. He joined the RCMP on April 22, 1968 with Troop 6 and trained in Regina, Saskatchewan and Penhold, Alberta. He served in Contract and Federal Policing for 37 years in British Columbia and worked General Duty in Burnaby, BC. The remainder of his service was in plain clothes throughout the Greater Vancouver, BC area. His memorable cases include Air India Bombing, various organized crime conspiracy files, and arrival of migrant boat people from Asia. He spent twenty plus years chairing the Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition in Surrey, BC as a volunteer. ROBERTSON, Loy WWII Loy was born in Carlyle, Saskatchewan, in 1924. He enlisted in 1943 in the Royal Canadian Artillery in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe until his discharge in January 1946. His father Jim was in World War I. On his return to Dogpound, AB, he married Lila Wigg and became a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 172 in Cremona. Loy was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Loy passed away in 1992.
