LEST WE FORGET 235 McLEAN, Stanley Wilbur WWII Stanley was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan, on March 4, 1921. He enlisted in the Air Force on January 5, 1942, serving in Canada, England and Germany. He was discharged on February 15, 1946, and received the Volunteer Medal and Clasp. He returned to Coquitlam, BC and worked in insurance and real estate. He died of a massive coronary at age 34 on October 21, 1955, in Vernon, BC. He was father to three children. McMORRIS, Allan WWII Allan was born in 1919 in Abernethy, Saskatchewan. He served on Active Service with the RCAF as an Aircraft Mechanic from August 11, 1941 until October 20, 1945. He served with the 143 Wing, 440 Squadron and arrived overseas on January 17, 1944 to Ayr, Scotland. He served in Canada, England, France, Germany and Belgium. He received the following Medals: the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 49 years. Allan passed away in 1994. McLEOD, Lorne Duncan “Mickey” WWII Lorne was born on March 21, 1922 to Norman and Annie Jessie (Turton) McLeod who lived in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. In 1943, during World War II, he enlisted with the RCAF where he trained and became an Air-frame technician. In 1943, Lorne married Ellen (Millicent) Kerridge of Morden, MB. Mickey joined the Army as an ambulance driver and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. Lorne was discharged in 1945 and returned to Carlyle to work with his brother, Alvin, in the Service Station. They later bought land and started farming. Lorne and Millicent had two children: Alan Lorne and Joelle Louise. Millicent passed away in 1971, and Lorne passed away in December 1976.
