LEST WE FORGET 229 McKENZIE, Norman PEACETIME Norman was born in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan in 1931. He served during peacetime in the Army with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). Norman passed away in 2014. McKENZIE, Robert Frederick WWII Robert was born on March 17, 1915, in Tribune, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and went overseas in January 1943. He carried out 48 missions with Bomber Command all with the Pathfinder Force, four of which he was Master Bomber Crew. He was awarded the DFC for his service. He took part in Operation Manna dropping food to the starving Dutch as well as an operation repatriating Prisoners of War as the war ended. Bob married Georgina Voechting in 1945 and they farmed in Tribune. Robert passed away on March 17, 1970 and is buried in Weyburn, SK. McKENZIE, Raymond George WWII Raymond was born on March 24, 1914, in Tribune, Saskatchewan. He grew up on the farm and joined the Army in 1942. He spent a lot of time in the trenches in Italy. After the war, he farmed for a bit and eventually married and moved to Quesnel, BC. Raymond passed away on May 30, 1995.
