LEST WE FORGET 227 McGREGOR, Hugh Vanderbuilt WWI Hugh was born in 1897 in Parry Sound, Ontario. He enlisted with the 1st Depot Battery Saskatchewan Regiment in England and Canada. He served in the Paymaster Dept. and was discharged on August 31, 1919. He received a Life Membership from The Royal Canadian Legion Foam Lake Branch 16. Hugh passed away in 1969. McKAY, Melvin “Buck” WWII Buck moved with his parents Rod and Fjola McKay and brother, Jack, to Carlyle, Saskatchewan in 1936. His father worked at the coal docks for the CNR Buck received his education in Carlyle. He joined the Regina Rifles of the Canadian Army. Melvin was killed in action. McINTOSH, Norman WWII Norman enlisted with the Army and served with the Regina and Winnipeg Rifles in Europe. He participated in the second wave of the D-Day Invasion, was wounded in the leg, and taken as a Prisoner of War. Norman passed away in 1968.
