LEST WE FORGET 205 LEWIS, Wilfred Eugene WWII Wilfred was born in Colfax, Saskatchewan, in 1920. He enlisted in World War II with the Canadian Army and served in England and Continental Europe. Wilfred passed away in 1977. LOCHTIE, Thomas Thomas was born in Kelliher, Saskatchewan in 1913. He joined the Navy as a stoker but was soon put to work maintaining aircraft. The ships he was stationed on include the Warrior and the Magnificent. Upon demobilizing, he returned to Canada with an English war bride and settled in Edmonton. He moved his growing family out to the Hastings Lake District in 1962. He worked at IPL until his retirement in 1976. He was a Past President of The Royal Canadian Legion, skipper of the Cutty Sark Club, and a member of a Masonic Lodge. The Legion was in the process of bestowing a Life Membership when he passed away in December 2000. LIGHTHEART, Raymond E. WWII & KOREA Raymond was born on October 30, 1922 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Saskatoon on June 16, 1941 with Royal Canadian Army Service Corp and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy and Europe during World War II. He received the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the Victory Medal. He was discharged on January 30, 1946 in Toronto. Raymond re-enlisted in 1950 with 1st Battalion PPCLI and was promoted to Corporal. He served in Korea and in Japan during the Korean War. He was wounded on December 10, 1951 on Hill 227 and rotated back to Canada. He was discharged in 1957. Raymond was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73 for 46 years before he passed away in 1995.
