LEST WE FORGET 179 HUNTER, David Orr WWII David was born in Saskatchewan in 1920. He enlisted in September 1941 with the Army #12 District Depot, serving in Canada and England during World War II. He was discharged on March 15, 1946 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. David passed away in 2003. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Earl Grey Branch 137. INKSON, Arthur WWI &WWII Arthur was born in Newcastle on Tyne, England, in 1897. On June 13, 1918, Arthur was drafted under Military Services Act of 1917 to serve in World War I. He replaced his brother, James, who was required on the farm to look after his mother and sisters. He was mobilized to the United Kingdom and served with the Canadian Engineers. On June 26, 1919, World War I ended, and Arthur returned to civilian life on demobilization. On February 14, 1941, he joined the Canadian Army in Saskatoon for active duty with a rank of private. He was mobilized and served in the United Kingdom as a driver mechanic and employed this trade in the RCCC Corps. At the end of World War II, Arthur was discharged on August 2, 1945, and he returned to civilian life. He passed away in 1979. HUNTER, Norman S. WWII Norman was born in Venn, Saskatchewan in 1919. He joined the Army as a Gunner and served from 1941 to 1945 as a radio operator and signalman with the 13th Field Regiment in England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. On D-Day, he landed at Juno Beach in France. Norman was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Boissevain Branch 10 for 45 years and he passed away in 2004.
