LEST WE FORGET 161 HEAD, Robert “Bob” WWI Robert was born in Chicago in 1898 and was the son of John and Kate (Taylor) Head and had brothers, Harry and George. The family moved to the New England district of Birch Hills in 1903, and a sister, Marjie, and a brother, Arthur, were added to the family. Bob joined the Army in 1917, but he did not go overseas as the 1918 influenza epidemic intervened. In 1920, he married Lillian Weiblen and had a daughter, Elsie. Bob’s wife passed away and he married Nora Eakin. He and Nora retired in 1963 and made their home in Surrey, BC. HEASMAN, Howard Reid WWII Howard was born in Wawota, Saskatchewan, on September 23, 1907. He joined the SSR on June 26, 1940, serving in Canada, England and France. He was wounded at Dieppe in August 1942. He received the 1939-1945 Star and was discharged on May 13, 1943. Howard passed away on March 25, 1972. HEADRICK, Marvin H. WWII Marvin was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan, in 1913 and joined the RCASC serving in Canada and Labrador. He passed away in 1971. He belonged to The Royal Canadian Legion Leroy Branch 309.
