LEST WE FORGET 151 HANDLEY, Charles E. WWII Charlie was born in Fairholme, Saskatchewan in 1925. He enlisted on October 20, 1941, in Regina with the Regina Rifles, serving in Canada and overseas. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Canada to marry Estelle Cadrain; they had three children. Charlie worked as a mechanic in Rosetown and left to farm in the McGee district. He married Doreen Hamel in 1972 and retired from farming in 1994. Charlie was a 50-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Rosetown Branch 66. He passed away from cancer on April 17, 1998, at age 72, and is buried in the Fairholme Cemetery. HANSON, Clifford Edgar WWII Clifford was born in Birch Hills in 1921, the son of Sigurd and Martha (Bergud) Hanson. He enlisted in the active Army on December 2, 1942, and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe until 1946. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Clifford married Ann Canuel in 1951 and raised three children. He re-enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and took up duties as a recruiting officer. In 1965, he was transferred to Squadron 109 U.B.C. in Vancouver. He retired in 1971 and was employed by the Bank of Commerce. Clifford passed away in 1977. HANRIEDER, Hugh F. WWII Hugh was born in Browning, Saskatchewan in 1922. He served in England with the Air Force during World War II. Hugh passed away in 1997.
