LEST WE FORGET 143 HAGER, Leonard WWII Leonard was born in Surprise, Saskatchewan in 1916. He enlisted in World War II with the Canadian Army in Calgary, Alberta in 1941. He received basic training in Red Deer, Alberta and advanced training in Camrose, Alberta. He transferred from Debert, Nova Scotia to London, England and served in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland with the 2nd Division 4th Field Regiment. He was awarded six medals including the Thank You Medal from Holland. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Trochu Branch 98 for ten years. Leonard passed away on March 20, 1993. HALE, Muriel Irene WWII Muriel was born in 1924 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in World War II and served in Canada and England. Muriel passed away in 1995. HALDANE, Donald Edward WWII Donald was born in Canwood, Saskatchewan in 1917. He joined the ROTC while studying at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon for a degree in mechanical engineering. He was shipped overseas in 1942 and lost a finger. Donald passed away in Victoria, BC, on December 6, 1989.
