LEST WE FORGET 115 EASTON, Edgar Vernon WWII Vernon was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1919. He enlisted in World War II in the South Alberta Regiment and trained in Dundurn, Saskatchewan, Nanaimo, British Columbia and Niagara, Ontario. He served in England, France, Belgium and Holland. Vernon was killed in action in Holland in 1944. EDWORTHY, Thomas Edward WWII Thomas was born in Star City, Saskatchewan on December 25, 1922. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on October 28, 1941 and served at the rank of Sergeant in Canada and in England during World War II. He was a dispatcher and drove a Harley Davidson motorcycle during the course of his Army days in England. Thomas met his wife Betty Kathleen Edworthy in England during the war and they were later married in Canada on January 13, 1949. They had five children. He was discharged on February 14, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Flin Flon Branch 73 in Flin Flon for eighteen years. Thomas lived in Flin Flon until his passing on February 26, 1977. EASTON, Walter Ralph WWII Walter was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1916. He enlisted in World War II with the Canadian Army’s South Alberta Regiment. He soon switched to the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as a navigator in Edmonton, Alberta, and received further training overseas. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Terrace Branch 13. Walter passed away on May 1, 2004.
