He enlisted with the Canadian Army and was stationed in England with the Signal Corps during World War II. Lloyd was killed in July 1943, a victim of a bombing raid near London. CAMPBELL, Charles Levi WWII Charles was born in Canwood, Saskatchewan in 1919. He joined the Army and served in Canada, Continental Europe and the United Kingdom during World War II. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Charles passed away in 1983. CAMPBELL, Charles “Charlie” WWII Charlie was born in the Fisher District of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. He was one of three boys born to Charles Forbes Campbell and Lillian (Barrs) Campbell, who were married in 1919. Forby and Lillian moved to a farm in the Fisher District, north of Birch Hills. Charlie attended Fisher School and then Birch Hills School, and he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. No more information is available to us except that Forbes passed away in 1943, and Lillian celebrated her 90th birthday in 1979 while living in Birch Hills. At the time of writing her history in the “Memories We Share Book,” published in 1980, she said that all three of their sons had passed away.
