LEST WE FORGET 347 SWEET, Cameron WWII Cameron Sweet joined the Royal Canadian Air Force Active Service in August 1942. He and his brother Vincent got six weeks leave to help with harvest and on September 16, 1942, they arrived in Toronto, Ontario for duty and training. In December 1945, Cameron was honourably released and transferred to the RCAF Reserve, General Station. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Elrose Branch 206. SWEET, Dorothy WWII Dorothy was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in August 1918 to George and Lottie Sweet. She joined the Women’s Division of the Royal Canadian Navy. While in the Navy, she advanced to the rank of Lieutenant. SWEET, Donald Alvin WWII Donald Sweet joined the Canadian Army in 1942 in Regina, Saskatchewan. After completing training and trade school, he served in Canada, Labrador and England with the RCEME Corps. Donald was discharged in 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion acting as President from 1959 to 1961 and Sergeant-at-Arms for many years at Rosetown. His service decorations include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp.
