LEST WE FORGET 335 SLOAN, Clarence WWI Clarence served our Country in World War I. He and his wife Beatrice came to Elrose in April 1937 where he took a position with Hunt-Graber Agencies as a bookkeeper. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Elrose Branch 206, acting as secretary for a number of years. Clarence passed away on August 27, 1977, at the age of 86. SMITH, Jack Oliver WWII Jack was born in Sanctuary, Saskatchewan on November 19, 1919. He was posted in Canada from April 17, 1941 to March 17, 1942; Active Force from March 18, 1942 to October 1942 and England from October 1942 to August 1942. He was also posted overseas to France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany from August 1944 to June 1945. John was at or near Eindhoven, Holland at the end of the war. John was discharged in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 8, 1945. Jack passed away on September 26, 1987. SMITH, Charles W. WWII Charles was born in London, England in 1881. He joined the Canadian Army in 1941, joining the 67th Battalion and serving overseas as Q.M. Sergeant from 1940 to 1943. He was discharged in 1943 and returned to make his home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Charles passed away in 1963.
