Flight Sergeant Frederick Read was killed in action in 1942 in the Netherlands. He is buried at Texel (Den Burg) Cemetery in the Netherlands. READ, John McCleave WWII John was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1913. He enlisted in the Air Force and served during World War II. He was stationed at many air bases in Canada doing construction and maintenance. At Dawson Creek, he worked on the Alaska Highway. John passed away in 1973. READ, George William WWI George worked in hospital in England looking after the wounded men during World War I. After the war, he married Laura Pettigrew and farmed at Stoney Beach and had a family of seven girls and four boys.
