LEST WE FORGET 277 McKELLAR, Gordon WWII Gordon McKellar was born in Elrose in September 1915. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in June 1942 and got his discharge in the spring of 1946. Gordon passed away in 1989. McKNIGHT, Earl WWII Earl was born on September 4, 1915, in Wartime, Saskatchewan to Bill and Georgina McKnight. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was posted in Saskatoon, Edmonton, Davidson, Vancouver, Galgary, Regina, and Bella Bella, Smithers, British Columbia. McKELLAR, Stanley Vernon “Mac” WWII Stanley was born in Elrose, Saskatchewan on March 2, 1917. He attended school in Elrose and after graduation worked for Wm. Ellis, who was Imperial and Massey Harris dealer. In 1937, he moved to Ontario and worked at I.N.C.O. in Sudbury until he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941. He served overseas as a bomber pilot during World War II, returning home in 1945. He then moved to British Columbia where he got employment in the retail grocery business. There he met and married Cynthia Doty of Carlyle, Saskatchewan. They had four children: Bonnie, Shawyn, Mary Jane and Richard. Both Cynthia and Mac, as he was known, have passed away.
