LEST WE FORGET 273 McDONALD, Cecil WWII Cecil was born at home in Lacadena, Saskatchewan in 1921 to Austin and Caroline McDonald. He was educated at Saltburn school. He served with the Regina Rifles and later went overseas with the Prince Edward Island Highlanders during World War II. Cecil was also a Prisoner of War and had some bad experiences there. In 1946, he was discharged and started farming in the Saltburn district, ten miles east of Lacadena. Cecil passed away in 1976. McDONALD, Stafford Austin WWII Stafford was the son of John James McDonald and Nellie Bruford McDonald of Elrose, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the forces at the age of 25 and served with the 8th Reconnaissance Regiment, 14th Canadian Hussars, RCAC. Stafford never returned home from the war, paying the ultimate sacrifice for his home and Country. He is buried in the Bergen-op-Zoom Canadian War Cemetery, 9.G.6. McDONALD, Lloyd E. WWII Lloyd was in the Canadian Provost Corps and was posted to London, England and Edinburgh, Scotland during World War II from 1944 to 1947.
