LEST WE FORGET 271 McCALLUM, Carl WWII Carl was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick. He served with the 18th Armoured Car Regiment XII Manitoba, Dragoon CAC. He met his future wife, Blanche Boerjan, in Dundurn where they were both stationed. They were married on January 16, 1943. He served from July 20, 1942 until his discharge on May 8, 1945. Carl went overseas in February 1943, serving in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany during World War II. At the end of the war, he was with a convoy that delivered a number of army trucks to Czechoslovakia. He returned from overseas in January 1946. Carl passed away in 2003. McCRIMMON, Malcolm Duncan WWI Private Malcolm McCrimmon served overseas with the 1st Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade during World War I. He passed away on August 15, 1918 from a gas infected shrapnel wound during the Battle of Amiens, at the age of 26. Malcolm is buried at the Terlincthun British Cemetery in France. McCRAE, James Gordon WWI James was born on September 1, 1895, in Howard County, Iowa, United States of America. He spent time in England and saw action in France during World War I, where he was killed in action on February 14, 1918.
