LEST WE FORGET 227 HINTZE, Wilbert “Ross” WWII Ross Hintze was enlisted in the Canadian Army from 1941 to 1945, taking his training in Regina and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Ross was stationed at The Queen Charlotte Islands. HOLMES, John Thomas WWII John was born in 1917. He joined the Air Force in wireless communications, serving in Goderich, Ontario; St. Hubert, Quebec, and Metz, France. John passed away in 1997. HOILAND, Peder WWII Peder was born in Tyme, Norway, on January 9, 1924. He enlisted in the Navy and served on the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. He was discharged in 1946 and became an electrician. Peder married Lois Schafer of Fenton in 1945 and had a family of five children. They retired to run a fishing camp at Clarke Lake in the summers and lived in Birch Hills in the winters. Peder passed away in 1999.
