LEST WE FORGET 197 GRENEDE, Fernand WWI Fernand was born in Belgium in 1883. He served four years in Belgium in Military Services, then was sent to the Belgian Congo to serve the Belgium Consulate for three years. Fernand and his wife, Henriette, came to Canada in 1907 settling in Manitoba. After Fernand rejoined his military regiment in Belgium in 1914, Henriette moved with her parents to the Mondou District of Saskatchewan. Fernand returned from overseas in 1919 and continued to farm in the Fairview District until 1933. He passed away in 1954. GREYEYES, Joseph WWII Joseph was born in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan on May 17, 1905. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers on May 16, 1941, serving in Canada. He was discharged on September 11, 1941 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. Joseph passed away in 1990. GREYEYES, Flora Jeanne WWII Flora was born in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan on July 13, 1914. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 19, 1943, serving in Canada. She was discharged on September 15,1945 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. She passed away on March 3, 2008.
