LEST WE FORGET 191 GOULDING, Kenneth WWII Kenneth was born in Canwood, Saskatchewan in 1922. He enlisted with the Regina Rifles and served from 1939 to 1945 in Regina as a dispatch rider on a motorbike. He was wounded a few times but was able to carry on in the war effort as they were not too serious. Kenneth passed away in 1987. GRABER, Robert William WWII Robert was born on November 24, 1913, in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. After enlisting in the Canadian Armed Forces, Doug was stationed in England and remained there during all of World War II. Robert served as a mechanic and drove supply/convoy trucks. Robert married an English War Bride on March 4, 1944 and returned to the farm in Elrose after the war. GRABER, Douglas W. “Doug” Doug Graber joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, Course 104-No. 15 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He served with Coastal Patrol at Pat Bay (near Victoria, BC) and many years as a P.I. Instructor in Brandon, Manitoba; Lethbridge, Alberta and postings near Quebec City. Doug was stationed all over because he was an excellent batter and 1st baseman for baseball and fastball. Many dollars were bet on those games – in some cases, the total company pay cheque. Doug was the son of Alfred and Allie Graber from Elrose and later from Victoria, BC. He married Islay Wells and together they had three children. They farmed north of Elrose. Doug passed away in 1980 and Islay in 2004.
