He received the VC (not the Victoria Cross). He passed away in 1964. He was a 45-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Moose Jaw Branch 59. GERSTMAR, Roy Roy Gerstmar was born on July 2, 1931. He served in the USA Forces. Roy passed away in March 1991 in Los Angeles, California, USA. GERSTMAR, John M. WWII John was born on April 20, 1925, to Frank and Anne Gerstmar of Elrose, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943, serving nineteen years in the Force. John has since passed away.
