LEST WE FORGET 147 ELLIS, Wilfred Robert WWII Wilfred was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1925. He enlisted in the Army and served in England during World War II. He came home in 1945. Wilfred passed away in 1952. ELSON, Karen Karen Elson was born to Esther and Freeman Oliphant of Hughton, Saskatchewan in November 1954. After graduating from high school in 1942, Karen joined the Armed Forces. In December 1973, she married Ron Elson of Winnipeg, Manitoba who was also in the Forces. They were stationed in Winnipeg and then in 1976 were stationed in Germany for four years. Karen left the services in 1979 before their first girl was born. In 1980, they moved to Edmonton, Alberta where Ron had been posted. ELMSLIE, Norman J. Norman Elmslie enlisted on September 19, 1961, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He took basic training in Shilo, Manitoba, spending a year there with the 2nd Surface to Surface Missile Battery. Norm was then stationed at Petawawa, Ontario with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He was discharged three years exactly to the date of enlistment, September 19, 1964. He and his wife Norma make their home in Elrose, Saskatchewan where he worked with Sask. Power until his retirement. Norm is an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Elrose Branch 206.
